Familiarize yourself with the cushion-sizing template provided and the cushion sizes available.
Hold the sizing template under the patient’s nose, and use it to determine the most suitable cushion size. Ideally, the outer edge of the patient’s nose should sit on the grey band in the center of the colored margins.
Select the matching cushion and try it on your patient for comfort and fit.
Sizing the mask frame
Use the frame-sizing template provided as a guide to help you choose the correct frame.
If the mask frame falls back over the patient’s head or sits too close to their ears, it is too large. Try a smaller frame.
If the mask frame falls forward over the patient’s head or sits too close to their eyes, it is too small. Try a larger frame.
A well-sized frame will sit centered on the patient’s head, and is neither too close to the eyes or ears.
Connect the air tubing from the CPAP machine to the mask elbow.
Take the elbow out of the frame by squeezing the quick-release buttons and pulling up.
Ensure the magnetic clips are not connected to the frame. Twist and pull them away from the frame if they are.
Place the cushion under the patient’s nose, and pull the headgear and frame over their head.
Bring the lower headgear straps under the patient’s ears and attach the magnetic clips to the frame on both sides.
Unfasten the upper headgear straps and pull them evenly until the mask is secure and comfortable.
Reattach the elbow with the air tubing to the frame.
