Astral’s light and compact design has been meticulously engineered to bring greater freedom, flexibility and quality of care to patients. It has been built to make planning and undertaking day-to-day activities easier allowing therapy to be delivered discreetly with minimum disruption to patients and others in their environment.
Astral features one or two external batteries, each providing up to 8 hours of power. It can operate continuously for up to 16 hours when connected to two external batteries.1 Astral also features an internal battery that provides up to 8 hours of extra backup power if needed. Patients can go longer and travel further, knowing they have reliable ventilation support.
DC power option
Astral can be plugged into a 12–24V DC power supply, such as a car power outlet, simply by using the Astral DC adapter. DC power will also recharge the internal battery when connected. If the external DC power source drops below 11V, Astral will automatically switch to the internal battery to ensure a continuous power supply.
A robust, thoughtfully designed mobility bag neatly holds the system, including the ventilator, external batteries and power supply unit. It features broad, comfortable shoulder straps, which make the bag easy to carry, while additional straps allow for simple mounting onto wheelchairs.
