Q. Why is there a device specifically for women?
A. Sleep apnea in women is different to sleep apnea in men.1 So it makes sense that their treatment should be different too. ResMed's AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ for Her device includes a new algorithm that responds to female-specific characteristics of obstructive sleep apnea. Find out more about ResMed’s solutions for women here.
Q. How are respiratory effort-related arousals (RERA) reported?
A. The AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ for Her provides RERA reporting, which can be viewed using AirView™ – ResMed’s cloud-based patient management system. This feature provides additional insight by identifying short events followed by arousals. Incorporating RERA detection into therapy can provide a better marker of your patient’s respiratory disturbance index (RDI). We recommend using the RERA information with the AHI in assessing therapy efficacy in female patients.
Q. Can I select the CPAP and standard AutoSet™ modes in my patient’s AirSense™ 10 AutoSet for Her therapy device?
A. Yes. Patient settings can be changed via the clinical menu on their device. They can also be adjusted remotely in AirView™ or via SD card in AirView or ResScan™.
