Choosing the right frame size

  1. If you are male, start with the Standard frame. If you are female, start with the Small frame.
  2. If you try the Small frame, and it falls forward on your head or rests too close too your eyes, size up to the Standard frame for a better fit.
  3. If the Standard frame falls back over your head or rests too close to your ears, try the Small frame for a more comfortable fit.

Some helpful tips

Mask assembly/reassembly

  1. Ensure you have all the mask parts together to begin.
  2. Connect the mask elbow to the frame.
  3. Thread the left end of the headgear into the left side of the frame and fasten the tab. Next, thread the right end of the headgear into the right side of the frame and fasten the tab.
  4. Align the arrow on the nasal pillow cushion to the arrow on the frame and connect them together. Then, connect the remaining end of the nasal pillow cushion and frame together with the ResMed logo facing the right way up through the headgear.

Mask fitting

  1. Bring the mask above your head and then down over your face while ensuring the elbow is centered on top of the head.
  2. Place the headgear behind the head and align the nasal pillows into your nostrils.
  3. Adjust the headgear by tightening or loosening it as appropriate until the mask and nasal pillows cushion are comfortably in place.
  4. Squeeze the side buttons on both sides of the mask elbow to quickly and easily disconnect it from the top of the frame, and then attach it to your air tubing.
  5. Reconnect the mask elbow (with the air tubing connected) to the top of the frame.

Mask disassembly

  1. Ensure the mask is disconnected from the CPAP machine.
  2. Pull the nasal pillows cushion out from one end of the frame. Repeat on the other end.
  3. Unfasten the headgear tab from one side and pull it out of the frame. Repeat on the other side.
  4. Squeeze the side buttons on the mask elbow and pull up to quickly and easily release it from the frame.

Vent connection

  1. To disconnect the vent, gently pull the nasal pillows piece away and slide the vent out.
  2. To reconnect the vent, align the notch on the nasal pillows piece with the groove on the vent, and then gently pull the nasal pillows piece over the vent.

Some helpful tips

Managing mask leak

  1. Locate where the air is escaping from on your mask, which is typically above or below the nasal pillows cushion.
  2. If air leaks from the side or top of the cushion, adjust the mask fitting to improve the seal.
  3. Gently pull the nasal pillows cushion out from under the nose and away from the face. Then, let the mask reseal itself.
  4. Adjust the headgear as needed to achieve a more secure seal. Then, check to ensure the frame is secure and that the mask elbow and air tubing are not pulling on the mask.

Daily cleaning

  1. Take the nasal pillows cushion off of the frame as per disassembly instructions.
  2. Soak the nasal pillows cushion in warm water and a mild liquid detergent.
  3. Clean the nasal pillows cushion and its vent holes inside and out with a soft bristle brush.
  4. Rinse the nasal pillows cushion thoroughly under running tap water.
  5. Gently shake it to remove any excess water.
  6. Leave the nasal pillows cushion to air dry away from direct sunlight.

Weekly cleaning

  1. Disassemble the mask into its components as per disassembly instructions.
  2. Soak each of the mask components (headgear, elbow and frame) in warm water and a mild liquid detergent.
  3. Gently hand-wash the headgear. Clean the mask elbow and frame with a soft bristle brush.
  4. Rinse each of the mask components thoroughly under running tap water.
  5. Squeeze the headgear and the sleeves on the frame with a clean towel to remove excess water.
  6. Leave each of the mask components to air dry away from direct sunlight.

Mask inspection

  1. To maintain optimum therapy performance, check your mask regularly for visible signs of damage and/or deterioration, such as cracks, discoloration or tears.
  2. Check each mask part as it's cleaned.
  3. Inspect the headgear, frame, elbow, cushion and air tubing.
  4. Replace mask parts regularly to help prevent mask deterioration from occurring and help optimize mask performance.
  5. Recommended resupply schedule:
    - Nasal pillows cushion: 2 x per month
    - Air tubing: every 3 months
    - Headgear: every 6 months
Note: Replacement cycles may vary depending on your insurance coverage.
  6. The QuietAir vent* can be removed to allow inspection of the vent holes.
  7. A slight discoloration of the silicone cushion components may occur and is acceptable.
  8. If any mask component appears damaged or deteriorated, it should be discarded and replaced.
  9. Follow up with your equipment provider if you have questions.
