Insurance and humidifiers

Do insurance companies usually allow or deny coverage for humidifiers? Find the answers to your most frequently asked questions about insurance coverage for humidifiers here.

Q. Do insurance companies usually allow or deny coverage for humidifiers?

A. Unfortunately, we can’t offer a definitive answer to this question. Some insurance companies will not cover the cost of humidifiers, but others may. Insurance coverage varies from provider to provider; please contact your insurer directly to find out if humidifiers may be included.

If you do go through your doctor and get a prescription and a letter of medical necessity (a letter that explains why you need a humidifier), it increases your chances of being reimbursed.
