Washington, DC – September 12, 2016 – ResMed’s world-leading connected care solutions were on display today at The App Association’s “Connected Health Tech” briefing, highlighting health IT’s power to help improve patient outcomes while reducing healthcare costs.
On a panel discussing how government can help support connected health solutions, ResMed’s VP of Market Access Liesl Cooper showed just how effective ResMed’s remote patient monitoring programs like AirView™ and myAir™ have been – helping more than 2 million CPAP and ventilation patients worldwide get the best therapy outcomes, and helping clinicians provide more efficient care.
“We’re truly changing lives, not just with world-class therapy devices, but by sending the data from those devices right to a clinician’s computer or a patient’s phone for faster support and better therapy engagement,” said Cooper. “Events like this help us get the word out that health IT is not just what’s next in patient care. It’s what’s right now.”
In one recent study, 84 percent of patients on CPAP achieved Medicare compliance by using myAir,1 ResMed’s patient engagement web and iPhone®* app that shows them a daily score of how they slept on CPAP and sends them personalized tips for improving their therapy.
Such positive results are capturing the attention of our nation’s lawmakers. Today’s event featured opening remarks from U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (HI).
