Congressman Scott Peters Visits ResMed

Rep. Peters lauds ResMed’s local job growth and global leadership in health technology

SAN DIEGO – August 9, 2016 – Today, U.S. Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) visited ResMed, praising its leadership in the health IT industry and highlighting how the Congressional Life Science Caucus he co-launched can help improve access to health information technology and help drive STEM job growth here and nationwide.

“ResMed's global leadership in remote patient monitoring is a great example of why San Diego is a world-class center for healthcare innovation,” said Congressman Peters. “The technology they’ve created improves patient care, and increases compliance to treatment, which will slow the progression of chronic diseases, reduce hospital readmission rates and lower healthcare costs. Their innovations are improving the quality of life for millions of patients and bringing more high-paying jobs to San Diego.”

During his visit, Congressman Peters updated ResMed on how the Congressional Life Science Caucus he co-launched in 2015 is reshaping federal policy to help drive job growth across STEM, and to improve patient access to medical technology like ResMed’s.

“We thank Congressman Peters for visiting us and for his ongoing support on policies that ensure patient access to life-changing and innovative products such as DMEPOS competitive bidding program reform and a repeal of the medical device tax,” said ResMed Government Affairs Director Larissa D’Andrea.
