ResMed is today one of the few companies to use computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) for mandibular repositioning devices (MRDs), enabling an almost infinite degree of customisation to suit your patients' complex dental anatomy. Accurate impressions and a protrusive bite registration or anatomical measurements are all that are required to produce as precise a device as possible.
Flexibility and choice
Narval CC™ comes in five different designs that can be used on patients with different tooth morphologies, or who need varying levels of robustness depending on the number, size and shape of their teeth. Each design comes with a protrusive range of up to 15 mm, with adjustments possible in 0.5 mm increments.
Patented articulation for greater flexibility
Narval CC uses a traction-based articulation method that maintains the mandible in a protruded position along the occlusal plane, instead of pushing it forward like conventional, compression-based MRDs. This articulation promotes lip seal, so your patients can sleep with their mouths closed during the night.1 It also creates 10% less stress on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).1
Lightweight, strong material for greater precision
Narval CC is made of polymer, a lightweight, strong, and biocompatible2 material that is not made from acrylic, metals, latex, paraben or bisphenol A. It’s hygienic to minimise the risk of allergies; it doesn't smell or leak, and is strong and lightweight. The use of polymer and laser sintering manufacturing techniques allows ResMed to create Narval CC in one continuous homogeneous layer that’s durable,3 flexible, thin, and hygienic.
Ease of titration
Narval CC allows for rapid, easy and precise titration thanks to the 0.5 mm increment connecting rods. You always know where you are in the process, and can easily go back or forward as required.
ResMed’s Narval CC, enjoys ISO 13485 certification as well as FDA 510(k) approval for the manufacturing of Narval CC.
Devices for the European market are manufactured in Lyon, France, whilst those in the USA and Canada are made near San Diego in California.
