Packages

There are two starter packs, each of which is delivered with 1 frame and 2 cushions as follows:

  • Small starter pack: 1 small frame, 2 cushions (sizes S and M)
  • Standard starter pack: 1 standard frame, 2 cushions (sizes S and M)

Please note that the standard frame is bigger than the small frame. You can order a large cushion (size L) as a spare part if you find that size M is too small.

Choosing the cushion size

There are two cushions in each starter pack (sizes S and M). We recommend starting with M, then trying the S cushion if M feels too big. If you know that your nose is larger than average, you might require a size L cushion.

Choosing the right frame size

Step 1 - In general, men should select the standard frame size and women should select the small frame size. These are general recommendations that can be disregarded if you feel that you have a smaller/larger face than average.

Step 2 - The frame should sit on the top of the head, like a headband. If the frame is too small, it will feel tight and sit too close to your forehead. If the frame is too large, it will feel loose and sit too far back on your head.

Mask fitting

Step 1 - Bring the mask above your head and then down over your face while ensuring the elbow is centred on top of the head.

Step 2 - Place the headgear behind the head and align the nasal pillows into your nostrils.

Step 3 - Adjust the headgear by tightening or loosening it as appropriate until the mask and cushion are comfortably in place.

Step 4 - Squeeze the side buttons on both sides of the mask elbow to quickly and easily disconnect it from the top of the frame, and then attach it to your air tubing.

Step 5 - Reconnect the mask elbow (with the air tubing connected) to the top of the frame.

Mask assembly/reassembly

Step 1 - Ensure you have all the mask parts together to begin.

Step 2 - Connect the mask elbow to the frame.

Step 3 - Thread the left end of the headgear into the left side of the frame and fasten the tab. Next, thread the right end of the headgear into the right side of the frame and fasten the tab.

Step 4 - Align the arrow on the cushion to the arrow on the frame and connect them together. Then, connect the remaining end of the cushion and frame together with the ResMed logo facing the right way up through the headgear.

Managing mask leak

Step 1 - Locate where the air is escaping from on your mask, which is typically above or below the nasal pillows cushion.

Step 2 - If air leaks from the side or top of the cushion, adjust the mask fitting to improve the seal.

Step 3 - Gently pull the nasal pillows cushion out from under the nose and away from the face. Then, let the mask reseal itself.

Step 4 - Adjust the headgear as needed to achieve a more secure seal. Then, check to ensure the frame is secure and that the mask elbow and air tubing are not pulling on the mask.

Mask disassembly

Step 1 - Ensure the mask is disconnected from the CPAP machine.

Step 2 - Pull the nasal pillows cushion out from one end of the frame. Repeat on the other end.

Step 3 - Unfasten the headgear tab from one side and pull it out of the frame. Repeat on the other side.

Step 4 - Squeeze the side buttons on the mask elbow and pull up to quickly and easily release it from the frame.
