Frequently Asked Questions
A CPAP prescription is required for an AirTouch F30i Clear. Cost and coverage varies by insurance provider and plan. After your doctor has provided you with a prescription, we recommend first contacting your insurance provider to learn more about what’s covered under your plan. Then you can find CPAP stores near you or online.
The home medical equipment supplier – the store where you picked up your CPAP mask and machine – is responsible for providing you with ongoing clinical support, including answering any questions and helping you resolve any mask comfort or fitting issues that you may be experiencing. Getting used to a mask can be challenging and there may be a different mask option that will work better for your personal comfort needs, so don’t hesitate to reach out!

You should clean the cushion, elbow and short tube, and vent ring daily. The headgear and frame only require weekly cleaning. Facial oil and dirt can easily build up on your mask parts when they’re not cleaned properly, which can lead to skin irritation. The good news? Cleaning your mask doesn’t take long, so working it into your morning routine should be a breeze.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR MASK
Supplies you’ll need to clean your mask:
- Sink or tub
- Warm, drinking-quality water (86°F / 30°C)
- Mild liquid detergent
- Towel
Step-by-step cleaning tips:
- Unplug your CPAP machine from the power source and disconnect your mask/tubing from your machine.
- Disassemble your mask:
- Undo the fastening tabs on the upper headgear straps and pull from the frame.
- Squeeze the side buttons on the elbow and detach from the frame. Note: After detaching the headgear, close the fastening tabs to prevent it from damaging the fabric sleeves when handling.
- Soak the components in warm water with a mild liquid detergent. Ensure that there are no air bubbles while soaking.
- Hand wash the components in water. Pay particular attention to the vent holes in the vent ring.
- Thoroughly rinse the components under running water. If the sleeve on the frame becomes twisted, it can be repositioned when wet.
- Squeeze the fabric components to remove excess water. Shake the QuietAir vent to remove any excess water.
- Leave the components on the towel to air dry out of direct sunlight.
Refer to the product user guide for complete instructions.
Ozone or UV light products3 ave not been validated for use with the mask. Use of ozone or UV light products may discolor or damage a Resmed mask during the Resmed limited warranty period and that will not be covered. Discoloration or damage of Resmed masks are only covered during the limited warranty period if they occur upon initial unpackaging.
Different parts require replacement at varying intervals. Taking care of your CPAP equipment is important, especially those parts which can be affected by dirt, oil and residue from your skin. Poorly cleaned CPAP masks can cause discomfort and skin irritation. The last thing we all need is another to-do item, so contact your CPAP equipment store and ask if they have a replacement supply program that you can enroll in to get new parts on a consistent schedule. And download the replacement tip sheet to help keep you on track.

- Resmed conducted an external crossover (or single-arm) study of the AirTouch F30i Clear mask, using the AirFit F30i as a benchmark. The study involved 33 adults who had been on PAP therapy for OSA (≥ 6 months) and were using other full-face masks, including the AirFit F30i (n=22), AirFit F20 (n=3), AirTouch F20 (n=3), AirFit F30 (n=2), AirFit F40 (n=2), DreamWear Full Face (n=1), and Mirage Quattro (n=1). The study took place in Sydney, Australia, from March 17 to April 7, 2025. Note for claims vs Own masks based on ECS 3: The study started with n=34, with n=33 completed the study AND only n=33 was used for Mask A vs Own Mask p value calculation (only paired data).
- Testimonial from two Resmed external clinical studies of experienced PAP patients.
