Stellar supports invasive and noninvasive ventilation for a range of non-dependent patients. Stellar is ideal for young children (13 kg+) and adults with conditions such as neuromuscular disease, obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Internal battery with 2 hours capacity and an optional external battery (the ResMed Power Station II) with 8 hours capacity make this device ideal for patients who need to be mobile.
- The Stellar 150's unique iVAPS (intelligent Volume-Assured Pressure Support) mode targets and maintains alveolar ventilation by automatically adjusting pressure support, even as the patient’s respiratory needs change. This advanced technology combines the comfort and synchrony of pressure support with the assurance of a target volume.
- Clinicians have the ability to preset two customized programs allowing the patient to change between two separate therapy parameters as needed. This could be used to differentiate therapy between day and night.
- Pathology defaults - A choice of disease-specific preset values (for obstructive, restrictive, normal lung mechanics and obesity hypoventilation) based on commonly used clinical values. This unique feature helps optimise advanced settings so medical staff can focus on fine-tuning the primary settings for each patient.
The remote alarm allows for an external alarm module to be set up outside the patient room, alerting staff to the appropriate room with the ventilator alarm. This accessory also allows for the device to be connected to the hospital's nurse call system.
ResMed Power Station (RPS) II
The ResMed Power Station II is an external long-life, lithium ion battery that works alongside ResMed sleep therapy devices or ventilators.
The H4i™ humidifier completely integrates with the ventilator to deliver humidification if required. Heated humidification can enhance patient comfort and minimise side effects of therapy, such as nasal irritation.
FiO2 and SpO2 monitor
The pulse oximeter connects directly to the back of the device and is displayed on the Stellar user interface, eliminating the need for any additional external equipment. By simply connecting the FiO2 kit to Stellar, the FiO2 can be monitored live on the device.
