AutoSet™ therapy is integrated into a number of our products and provides treatment at lower pressures because the pressure needs of someone with OSA change throughout the night. Sleep stage, body position, and number of other factors can alter a person's pressure needs. CPAP pressures must be set at a person's maximum pressure need because CPAP devices have no ability to adjust.
A ResMed device with AutoSet delivers only the pressure you need when you need it. It senses your pressure needs by monitoring your airflow. Certain patterns of airflow indicate the coming of an upper airway obstruction, which will cause an apnea, hypopnea, or snoring.
AutoSet therapy is quiet and comfortable. It can reduce pressure-related side effects like dry nose, sinus congestion, sore throat, and sleep disturbances. It can also increase the amount of time you use your positive airway therapy device thereby increasing the benefits.
Our devices with AutoSet store treatment data so your clinician can monitor the success of your treatment. Your physician can see the number of apneas and hypopneas you have and whether or not you are continuing to snore. If your pressure needs change during your course of therapy, they will respond accordingly.
