Bilevel pressure support therapy
The VPAP S provides bilevel pressure support therapy for patients with respiratory insufficiency and/or obstructive sleep apnoea. It is suitable for the non-dependent, spontaneously breathing patient in the home.
Packed with a range of trusted features and technologies: CPAP and Spontaneous (S) modes, the Easy-Breathe motor, Vsync™, TiControl™, and Trigger and Cycle Sensitivities
Noninvasive ventilator
VPAP ST is ResMed’s mid-level noninvasive ventilation (NIV) device designed to treatnon-dependent patients with respiratory insufficiency, requiring the security of a backup rate(up to 50 bpm), in the hospital or the home. Suitable for adult and paediatric patients (over 13kg), VPAP ST comes packed with a range of trusted features and technologies—enhanced on ResMed’s new platform, to improve patient comfort and therapy outcomes.
Adaptive Servo-Ventilation Therapy
The 3rd generation AutoSet CS system combines ResMed’s proven adaptive servo-ventilation treatment algorithm with a newly designed platform to deliver a new standard of treatment, comfort and ease of use.
Extensively researched, the AutoSet CS delivers an effective, customised therapy to patients with central or mixed apnoeas, periodic breathing and Cheyne Stokes respiration with or without OSA.
Noninvasive ventilator
VPAP III ST-A with QuickNav is a noninvasive ventilator designed to treat non-dependent patients with respiratory insufficiency who need the security of a backup respiratory rate and alarms in the home or in non-acute hospital environments.
Packed with a range of trusted features and technologies: CPAP, Spontaneous (S), Spontaneous–Timed (ST) and Timed (T) modes, five comprehensive alarms, Vsync, TiControl, and Trigger and Cycle Sensitivities
ResMed’s proven performance in respiratory care devices is the reason why many clinicians prefer to treat their patients with a bilevel device.

VPAP technologies
The following VPAP technologies work together to achieve exceptional patient–device synchronisation, comfort, compliance and treatment efficacy:
VSync
The Vsync feature manages leak and maintains patient–device synchrony.
When patients breathe ‘in sync’ with their device, they receive more effective, comfortable treatment.
TiControl
The TiControl feature allows clinicians to manage leak by controlling the patient’s inspiratory time limit according to disease state. TiMax is used for obstructive disorders and large leak; TiMin is used for restrictive disorders.
Trigger and Cycle Sensitivities
This feature allows clinicians to customise the sensitivity with which the device detects the start of inspiration and expiration.
Optimised for typical patients, VPAP’s trigger and cycle sensitivities improve patient–device synchrony and lower the patient’s work of breathing, while avoiding false triggers.
Spontaneous, Spontaneous–Timed and Timed Modes
ResMed's S, ST and T modes use a conventional square pressure waveform delivering two levels of pressure—IPAP for inspiration and EPAP for expiration.
Choosing the right mode depends on the patient’s condition and whether there is a need for a backup respiratory rate.
VAuto—the auto-adjusting mode
VAuto mode is useful for OSA patients requiring set pressure support for comfort with Enhanced AutoSet to automatically titrate the upper airway. The inclusion of CSA detection allows clinicians to monitor more difficult patients for central sleep apnea and prescribe ASV therapy if required.
Adaptive Servo-Ventilation mode
ResMed's ASV therapy has been the most proven treatment on the market for central sleep apnea (CSA), including complex, periodic breathing and mixed sleep apnea. In patients with Congestive Heart Failure and Cheyne-Stokes respiration, ASV therapy has been shown to improve parameters of sleep-disordered breathing, cardiac function, and respiratory stability.1, 2, 3
Both the S9 Series and new bilevel range* share the same features and benefits of the award-winning design and technology platform.
Quietness
The enhanced Easy-Breathe motor delivers more performance, yet virtually eliminates the noise radiated into the room as well as the noise conducted down the tube … creating the most peaceful environment for the user and their bed partner.
Intuitive Design
The new-look devices take an evolutionary leap forward in form and function. The controls are not only inviting, stylish and easy to use, but they also introduce innovative features that ensure patient support and encouragement.
Climate Control
ResMed's Climate Control feature (with H5i Heated Humidifier) automatically delivers the optimal temperature and humidity right to the mask. It protects against rainout without compromising humidity, providing the most comfortable therapy possible.
More flexible tubing
Exclusive to ResMed, the standard SlimLine™ and heated ClimateLine™ and ClimateLineMAX ™ tubes
Compliance Management
ResMed offers a range of compliance management solutions that help in delivering a high quality of patient care. Therapy can be easily monitored, ensuring any problems are detected early and addressed quickly.
