Quietness

The enhanced Easy-Breathe motor delivers more performance yet virtually eliminates the noise radiated into the room and the noise conducted down the tube creating the most peaceful environment for you and your bed partner.

S9 Series - More. Comfort.

Here's what people said after clinical trials with S9 ...

"Very quiet and lovely soft air which is much more comfortable. The ultimate device so far. My wife too appreciated the quietness of this machine."

"It is difficult to believe breathing could be improved upon."

"[It was so quiet] I had to double-check that the S9 was in fact working!"

ResMed’s enhanced Easy-Breathe Motor

Motor Airflow

The S9 Series includes an enhanced Easy-Breathe motor. Now featuring axial air-flow, the enhanced Easy-Breathe motor produces less turbulence. The innovative design features foam and noise isolating materials incorporated into the base. The result is simple – less noise.

Taking quiet to the next level

Radiated noise levels (the sound in the room) are the same as ResMed’s market leading S8 II Series. With noise levels at 24 dBA*, the S9 Series is no louder than normal breathing. Conducted noise levels (the noise through the tube) have been further reduced by 78%!* The result – a peaceful night’s sleep.

A Quick Tutorial

Radiated Noise

There are two ways we can measure device noise:

  • Radiated noise – This is the noise radiated through the casing and inlet of the device. It affects both you and your bedside partner.
  • Conducted noise – This is the noise which propagates from inside the device down the breathing tube to the patient through the mask.

Central Sleep Apnea detection

The enhanced Easy-Breathe motor features small diameter lightweight impellers which provide lower inertia. This enables the motor to track your normal breathing waveform and produce the small oscillations in pressure required to detect Central Sleep Apneas.
